A linear coastal retreat overlooking Mangonui Harbour.

A dark form that draws from the tones of the bush around it. The roofline extends to shelter outdoor spaces - open and usable as the seasons shift, the house oriented toward weather rather than away from it.

The silhouette is disciplined. The outlook is generous. A considered measure of mass, void, and view.
Inside, the palette lifts. Warm plywood ceilings trace the grain of the material through the room. Grooved wall linings introduce rhythm, keeping the interior open and unhurried. A muted tactility carries through - fabric, floor, and window treatments in oat and light grey tones. Black joinery and light fittings tie back to the dark exterior, their presence felt rather than announced.
