Slip-Way transforms an existing Ngāpipi boatshed into a waterfront bar, set directly over Hobson Bay.
The proposal works with what is already there. The gabled form, timber structure, and direct relationship to the water are kept intact, the foundation from which a more considered hospitality setting emerges.
Inside, dark timber, low lighting, and built-in seating compose a warm and enclosed interior. The harbour remains present beyond - city skyline, open water, and the particular quality of light that comes with an evening at the edge of the bay. A place for drinks and conversation, at the edge of the bay.
